Requirements
Must:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- Masters or doctorate degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Engineering or Computer Science in a related field, along with at least 20 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, with 12 years within the DoD.
- Alternatively, a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Engineering or Computer Science in a related field and 25 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, with 15 years in the DoD.
- Alternatively, 30 years of directly related experience with appropriate certifications, with 20 years in the DoD.
- Expertise in technical duties related to AF LCM of weapon systems or weapon system products, with proficiency in identifying technical requirements and deliverables.
- Acquisition Qualification is a must.
- Systems Engineering Certificate or Degree from an ABET-accredited school, or DAWIA APDP Certification in Engineering & Technical Management functional area, Level II, or relevant professional certifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to assigned programs and products concerning acquisition life cycle activities like development, production, testing, and technical management.
- Identify and document technical needs for weapon system products.
- Construct technical/engineering and test/validation plans that outline the objectives and methods to meet mission and system criteria.
- Apply appropriate computing principles and broad technical knowledge to translate capability needs/requirements, evaluate design choices, and develop testing strategies within life cycle constraints like cost and timeline.
- Assess technical risks, make independent technical choices, and advise on feasible technical alternatives to enhance system performance and streamline acquisition schedules.
- Innovate new features and improve or validate existing data, methods, or techniques.
- Assist in converting DoD user needs into functional system requirements.
- Review overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability) requirements and support in the creation of system specifications and architectural products.
- Conduct independent evaluations of proposed engineering changes and provide the Government with analysis and recommendations regarding vendor proposals.
- Aid in life cycle cost assessments for proposed systems and components.
- Provide test and evaluation support, including planning, conducting, and assessing test results against operational requirements, and facilitating participation in relevant system/program events.
- Assist in scheduling and securing necessary test resources to support project and program office objectives, while monitoring and reporting on Test and Evaluation (T&E) efforts across all types of systems.
- Contribute to the design, planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and documentation throughout all phases of test and evaluation programs, including relevant certifications and procedures.
- Aid in the development of technical plans for systems and programs, including reviewing technical documentation, participating in Working Groups, tracking risk and issue resolution, and supporting special studies for alternative approaches.
- Stay informed of relevant regulations, policies, and operating instructions relating to the preparation of technical documents, data, and systems engineering execution.
