Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 6 years of experience, or equivalent combinations such as a master’s degree and 4 years of experience, a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 14 years of experience without a degree. - Proficient in analytical reasoning, requirements gathering, technical troubleshooting, system integration, and secure cloud-native development. - Strong practical experience in contemporary programming languages, frameworks, and distributed systems architecture. - Capability to assess complex technical issues, design scalable and maintainable solutions, and lead implementation across diverse teams. - Experience in forging partnerships, driving innovation, focusing on execution, and aiming for engineering excellence. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making, clarify complex engineering concepts, and guide technical discussions among teams. - Proven experience in mentoring and leveling up engineers while facilitating cross-team technical coherence.

Responsibilities

- Lead team initiatives to design, develop, test, and document intricate software systems and applications, integrating AI-assisted tools to enhance accuracy and decrease manual tasks while ensuring validation of AI outputs. - Provide technical advice and procedural instruction to engineers within and across teams, including coaching on responsible AI utilization, prompt strategies, and verification of AI-generated outcomes. - Collaborate with analysts, engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to design complex systems, utilizing personal expertise and AI-backed exploration to assess architectural options. - Support various teams by evaluating designs, advising on solution methodologies, and supplying AI-enabled research, code analysis, and prototyping assistance. - Deconstruct functional and business requirements into clear implementation strategies and estimations, incorporating AI tools to explore solutions and enhance estimation accuracy. - Compose high-quality, maintainable code and thorough automated tests for complex system components, leveraging AI for test generation, refactoring, or documentation while ensuring quality and security. - Analyze secure coding methodologies and propose enhancements, utilizing AI tools to uncover vulnerabilities and concerns regarding code quality. - Maintain quality, performance, stability, observability, and compliance with specifications across team outputs, merging human expertise with AI analytics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. - Lead modernization of legacy systems by directing refactoring, migration planning, and solution redesign, using AI tools to evaluate legacy code and suggest clearer patterns. - Define and propose metrics that enhance engineering quality, cycle time, reliability, and operational performance, including metrics related to AI-assisted development. - Present architectural decisions, system modifications, and technical topics to peers, leadership, and partners, incorporating insights from AI-generated analyses as needed. - Encourage the adoption of modern engineering practices, such as cloud-native designs, automated testing, observability, and responsible AI-enabled development workflows. - Mentor Software Engineers I, II, and Senior Engineers, assisting them in developing stronger engineering skills and effective AI integration into their workflows. - Share insights, refined prompts, and lessons learned from AI-assisted development to strengthen team and organizational standards.
