Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years in a relevant position, or alternative combinations of education and experience
- Proven skills in designing, building, and maintaining reliable engineering solutions
- Expertise in interpreting logs, metrics, and traces for incident diagnosis
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or C#
- Experience with building and maintaining production-level services and automation tools
- Knowledge of full-stack systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native infrastructures
- Ability to calculate and analyze key performance metrics like MTTA and MTTR
- Experience leveraging AI and machine learning for optimizing engineering processes
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive executive summaries post-incident
- Train teams on conducting blameless postmortems and root cause analysis techniques
- Create and maintain a repository of learnings and common themes from incidents
- Support engineering teams during incidents, providing rapid diagnostics and resolutions
- Analyze incident data from observability platforms to ascertain root causes
- Identify and standardize incident response workflows and communication paths
- Build dashboards tracking incident metrics such as frequency and resolution times
- Collaborate with engineering teams to pinpoint tasks that can be automated
- Develop and improve custom scripts and workflows for incident management
- Ensure all tools and automation comply with organizational standards
