Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline with 4 years of experience in product design, showcasing strategic thinking and complex problem-solving in a portfolio.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered (Masters with 2+ years or PhD with 1 year) or a total of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience conducting user research and leveraging insights to guide product design strategy.
- In-depth understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and usability principles.
- Background in contributing to and evolving design systems on a large scale.
- Proficient facilitation skills for leading design critiques, workshops, and aligning stakeholders.
- Strong ability to mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback.
- Evidence of influencing product outcomes through design leadership and collaboration.
- Familiarity with text-to-prototype tools.
- Capacity to collaborate with product teams and utilize tools for rapid prototyping in research and testing phases.
- Experience creating AI products or significant knowledge of AI design practices, including model constraints and feedback mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead design projects for products, converting business goals and user needs into innovative, user-centric designs across desktop and mobile interfaces.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine UX strategies and influence roadmap decisions through design thinking and user insights.
- Conduct user research in partnership with UX researchers, executing field studies, user testing, and data analysis to uncover behavioral insights that inform design choices.
- Generate and enhance UX outputs such as user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, prototypes (both low and high fidelity), and information architecture, aligning with user and business objectives.
- Lead the enhancement of the design system by identifying gaps and proposing new components to ensure cohesive and scalable design across products.
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other team members to establish a unified vision, address constraints, and develop implementation strategies.
- Facilitate design workshops, critiques, and sprints to encourage collaboration, expedite decision-making, and create a collective understanding of design objectives.
- Advocate for design choices during stakeholder reviews, clearly communicating the rationale, user impact, and business benefits.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and design excellence.
- Oversee usability testing and behavioral analytics evaluations to affirm design efficacy and discover optimization possibilities.
- Ensure meticulous implementation by maintaining detailed design specifications, collaborating closely with developers, and engaging in user acceptance testing.
- Regularly assess and enhance design processes, tools, and team practices to boost efficiency and collaboration.
- Keep abreast of UX trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards, contributing to the growth of team capabilities and design culture.
- Effectively manage multiple projects and priorities, estimating efforts, scheduling, and delivering tasks on time in agile environments.
- Utilize general-purpose LLM tools to analyze user behavior, discern patterns, and identify strategic opportunities.
- Harness AI to expedite discovery, experimentation, and development processes while recommending enhancements.
