Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related field, with 8 years of experience, or a masters degree with 6 years of experience, or 20 years in a related discipline. - In-depth knowledge of leading enterprise data governance catalog tools and contemporary data governance technologies. - Strong grasp of data management principles, encompassing metadata management, data classification, data quality, business glossary management, and data lineage. - Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise data governance models, including roles, policies, standards, and adoption initiatives. - Advanced analytical abilities to identify organizational challenges, assess root causes, and propose solutions aligned with business objectives. - Familiarity with risk management principles and regulatory compliance relevant to data governance, with adept collaboration skills for working with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams. - Understanding of internal control frameworks to align catalog governance with enterprise standards and support audit processes. - Knowledge of data platform ecosystems, such as data warehouses and cloud-native solutions, sufficient for defining governance requirements and prioritizing catalog coverage. - Comprehensive understanding of data lineage concepts and the ability to establish lineage standards across varied data environments. - Excellent communication and persuasive abilities to foster consensus among senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. - Strong project management skills, with a history of delivering complex, enterprise-wide data projects from inception to post-project evaluation. - Demonstrated expertise in change management, including training, communication, and the organizational adoption of new tools and processes.

Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive Data Governance guidance and support for data catalog policies, standards, and practices, acting as the primary expert for both business and technology stakeholders. - Define and take ownership of the enterprise data catalog governance model, including roles, responsibilities, policies, and standards governing catalog content and utilization. - Conduct Data Governance evaluations to suggest solutions that bridge corporate data strategy, IT strategy, and catalog implementation. - Oversee internal assessments of data catalog policies, standards, and procedures to ensure they align with enterprise data governance expectations and the demands of Risk, Compliance, and Security teams. - Create catalog governance scorecards and metrics to assess program health, adoption, and business value, providing updates to senior leadership. - Persistently enhance catalog governance processes based on stakeholder input, emerging technologies, and changing organizational needs. - Lead and manage the lifecycle of catalog governance projects, ensuring effective team collaboration from initiation to conclusion across enterprise-wide catalog efforts. - Drive the governance roadmap alongside technology and data platform teams, balancing governance necessities with business facilitation responsibilities. - Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure catalog governance aligns with enterprise standards and supports broader organizational necessities. - Maintain an up-to-date catalog of data assets, ensuring comprehensive inventory documenting how data is generated, accessed, utilized, and shared. - Define priorities for data source connections and coverage needs while partnering with technical teams to guarantee timely onboarding of critical systems and current metadata. - Establish and maintain data classification and tagging frameworks, working closely with Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to align standards with data protection requirements and regulations. - Serve as the main subject matter expert for internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and insights regarding catalog governance policies and practices. - Champion AI-powered catalog features, including automated metadata enrichment and intelligent asset recommendations, while ensuring compliance with governance standards.
