Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline with over 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience (e.g., Masters degree and 2 years of experience, Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience, or 16 years of experience in a related area).
- Strong programming skills in Python along with experience in libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, and proficient in SQL, including building and optimizing complex queries and data transformation.
- Proven track record in designing and constructing data pipelines and architectures within cloud platforms, specifically using Snowflake and AWS services like S3, Lambda, and EC2.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and experience with big data technologies, including Spark and Kafka.
- Knowledge of data orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or Dagster, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines relevant to data engineering.
- Experience with GenAI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs), particularly in prompt engineering or productivity enhancement.
- Understanding of GenAI workflows like retrieval-augmented generation and lightweight fine-tuning, and ability to evaluate the quality of model outputs.
- Previous hands-on work with automated testing frameworks and data validation strategies to ensure the reliability of data pipelines and quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and construct robust, scalable architectures for data pipelines utilizing Snowflake and AWS services to facilitate analytical models, data products, and reporting requirements across Decision Support.
- Develop and manage optimal ETL/ELT workflows for both structured and unstructured data, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture frameworks and business objectives.
- Create and implement automated testing and validation frameworks to preserve data integrity and ensure dependability throughout all analytical outputs.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, taking proactive measures to maintain elevated data quality standards.
- Build and deploy the necessary infrastructure for data science model operations, including deployment, monitoring, and refresh schedules within cloud environments.
- Streamline manual data processes through automation, thereby improving their scalability and reducing technical debt while enhancing data scientists capacity for higher-value tasks.
- Generate tools and writing code to cleanse, structure, and adjust data using AI, ML, and big data methodologies while maintaining semantic layers and metadata structures enabling AI-driven workflows and self-service data access within the organization.
- Develop and maintain AI agents and intelligent automation processes to enhance data operations, expedite insight delivery, and augment the teams operational capacity.
- Collaborate with data scientists, business intelligence analysts, product owners, and the broader Decision Support team to interpret analytical needs into logical and physical database configurations.
- Work together with internal and external data providers to validate data, offering feedback and customizing adjustments where necessary for analytical and operational purposes.
- Recognize and implement enhancements to our internal data management practices, providing technical leadership to influence the data infrastructure roadmap and fostering innovation.
- Mentor junior professionals by contributing to design standards and establish reusable data frameworks, ensuring extended value across Decision Support.
