Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field and 6 years of experience in a similar industry. Alternative combinations may include a masters degree with 4 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience, or 18 years of relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a management or leadership position.
- Over 2 years of direct experience working with business stakeholders in a consulting or advisory role.
- Proficient in change management and stakeholder enhancement.
- Strong understanding of data management principles including data quality, metadata, lineage, and cataloging.
- Knowledge of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, state privacy laws) and related compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with data architecture, APIs, databases, and data integration techniques.
- Experience using governance tools, data catalogs, and compliance platforms.
- Highly analytical with the ability to conduct thorough business and data analyses.
- Skilled in problem-solving and translating complex needs into actionable strategies.
- Experience in leading meetings, gathering requirements, and facilitating decision-making.
- Proficient with various data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication ability to articulate governance concepts to diverse audiences.
- Diplomatic in resolving conflicts and finding mutually beneficial solutions.
- Self-driven and capable of independently managing multiple domain relationships.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for in-person collaboration with domain owners.
- Effective at working across organizational lines and with remote teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact and trusted advisor for designated data domain owners.
- Provide education to domain owners regarding their roles, responsibilities, and governance expectations.
- Create and present customized training materials, templates, and resources to assist domain ownership efforts.
- Offer continuous consultation on governance processes, policy interpretation, and compliance obligations.
- Collaborate with domain owners to evaluate governance maturity and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Assist in prioritizing governance projects based on risk, regulatory standards, and business importance.
- Monitor progress against commitments and support domain owners to sustain momentum.
- Perform comprehensive analyses of domain data assets, usage trends, dependencies, and business significance.
- Share insights to empower domain owners in making informed data management decisions.
- Assess domain data assets in relation to governance regulations, standards, and compliance benchmarks.
- Convert enterprise governance policies into practical, domain-specific guidelines.
- Advocate for the concerns and needs of domain owners during governance leadership discussions.
- Provide constructive feedback to the governance program regarding policy effectiveness and potential improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Privacy, Security, Data Strategy) in support of domain owners.
- Connect domain owners with pertinent expertise and resources throughout the organization.
- Foster a community among domain owners through knowledge sharing and collaborative efforts.

This position will empower domain owners to fulfill their governance obligations effectively by providing guidance, training, prioritization support, and in-depth business analysis. We offer a competitive salary range of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00 annually, dependent on location and experience, along with flexible vacation policies, seven paid holidays, and generous wellness benefits totaling up to 160 hours annually.
