Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years in a mechanical/electrical role within critical facilities, with preference for experience in data centers, hospitals, or power plants
- 5-7 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including people management and vendor oversight
- Proven skills in project management, budgeting, and schedule development
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as NEC, NFPA regulations, and safety best practices
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of operating hand tools and electrical measurement devices
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and team members
Responsibilities
- Oversee operational integrity and regulatory compliance of data center systems including electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety
- Manage chilled water systems, HVAC, and associated equipment
- Ensure critical power distribution and electrical system efficiency
- Supervise fire life safety systems, including sprinkler systems and detection devices
- Responsible for management of communications infrastructure, such as cabling and customer space
- Execute project management for multiple initiatives from inception to completion
- Develop operational strategies to enhance data center efficiencies while mitigating risks
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and ensure their compliance with standards
- Coordinate and monitor vendor relationships and service contracts
- Prepare and oversee budget forecasts for operational and capital expenditures
- Lead staffing and shift management, including time-off approvals and performance evaluations
- Engage in audits and ensure compliance with industry standards
