Data Center Operations Technician III - Swing Shift

Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma or higher
- 2 to 5 years experience in the data center sector
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, and life safety systems
- Proven understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers
- Proficiency in fiber optics, cabling infrastructure, and industry best practices
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA standards, building codes, and compliance issues
- Practical knowledge of industrial safety procedures (lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA regulations)
- Experienced with data trending, tracking, and integrated critical monitoring systems
- Minimum of 2 years experience with large commercial and industrial systems such as HVAC and electrical distribution
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members
- Proficient in software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Must pass extensive background checks including criminal history and employment verification
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the data center
- Monitor and manage mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications systems
- Track and analyze operational performance metrics
- Collaborate with contractors for system expansions and upgrades
- Partner with senior technicians to maintain a proactive maintenance schedule
- Ensure maximum operational efficiency based on CoreSite guidelines
- Manage systems to prevent unexpected outages impacting customers
- Conduct regular facility and security inspections, documenting and addressing issues
- Coordinate cable terminations, circuit path creation, and power upgrades
- Complete work orders and customer service requests promptly
- Assist in creating and updating maintenance procedures
- Participate in infrastructure projects including cage and cabinet installations
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support daily
- Analyze existing conditions and recommend new technologies for efficiency improvement
