Requirements
Must:
- 5 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and supporting critical, multi-site networks
- 5 years of knowledge regarding wireline and wireless technologies, including fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, cellular technologies, CDMA, TDMA, VoIP, 5G, TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
- Proficient in networking tools such as Fluke Versiv with light meter, netAlly AirCheck G3, netAlly nXG, iperf3, nmap, wireshark, and traceroute
- 2 years of intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio (highly desired)
- 1 year of experience testing copper and fiber (required)
- A valid drivers license and a clean driving record, as fieldwork within Virginia is required
- Ability to maintain insurance coverage during engagement
- Capability to manage expenses related to room and board while traveling, with reimbursement provided for work-related travel
Responsibilities
- Design, direct, review, implement, and enhance network and voice cabling solutions for our Information Technology division
- Troubleshoot major and minor network issues, ensuring optimal system performance
- Monitor and evaluate network capacity, working with vendors to develop and implement effective solutions
- Manage vendor relationships, support agreements, and validate network billing according to industry standards
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers both verbally and in writing
- Research and document communications technologies, topologies, and advancements
- Coordinate with multiple vendors for problem resolution and network performance diagnosis
