Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Strong expertise in embedded C and configuration of microcontroller peripherals.
- Familiarity with automotive standards and tools such as CAN/CAN-FD, XCP, A2L/ASAP2, CANape, and DBC files.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment, debugging tools, and bench setups.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in system design, embedded software, and PCBA troubleshooting (preferred).
- Bonus: Experience in motor control (BLDC/PMSM) or combustion engine management.
- Bonus: Understanding of Altium and PCB design.
- Bonus: Knowledge of NXP S32K, AURIX, or TI automotive microcontrollers.
- Bonus: Experience in developing software tools for calibration workflows.
- Bonus: Familiarity with automotive diagnostic frameworks and principles of functional safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop bare-metal C firmware for automotive-grade microcontrollers, such as NXP S32, ARM, Power Architecture, and AURIX.
- Implement drivers for peripherals and real-time control loops.
- Design and refine algorithms for engine management, BLDC/PMSM control, sensing interfaces, and powertrain subsystems.
- Create reliable state machines, diagnostics, safety monitors, and calibration integration points.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to initiate new board setups, debug sensor interfaces, and validate time-sensitive features.
- Support automotive communication protocols, including CAN/CAN-FD, ethernet, and XCP, along with related tools such as Vector CANape.
Description
We are looking for a talented Embedded Systems & Calibration Tools Engineer to design, implement, and maintain firmware and calibration infrastructure for advanced automotive and powertrain control systems. Our role offers a unique opportunity to work across various layers of the automotive control stack, including bare-metal firmware and data analysis. You’ll be involved in designing the entire workflow from firmware through calibration to vehicle testing. We offer competitive pay ranging from $55,000 to $150,000 per year, along with benefits such as a 401(k), health insurance, paid time off, professional development support, and tuition reimbursement. This position is based in person.
