We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with extensive knowledge in object-oriented and functional software design, alongside a solid grasp of core principles. You should possess expertise in creating reusable common component libraries, developing RESTful services, and be familiar with various software development methodologies and security best practices. A strong understanding of accessibility practices is essential, coupled with excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. We value leadership qualities, including mentoring abilities, conflict management, and team building. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, and being a team player is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems (or a related field) is required, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will have you collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to design and deliver custom enterprise software applications. You will be entrusted with the architecture of complex systems, ensuring their scalability, maintainability, and performance. Critical decision-making regarding technologies, frameworks, and methodologies will be an essential part of your responsibilities. You will ensure high software quality standards through code reviews and adherence to best practices by the development team. Moreover, you will contribute to resolving complex technical issues within the software and maintain a long-term technical vision that aligns technology choices with our business objectives. You will also write clear documentation for system architectures, APIs, and codebases to promote long-term maintainability. As an expert in the team, you will share insights from projects with the broader engineering teams and present necessary project updates and risks to executives and customers. Building productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be crucial as well. Additionally, you will lead a solid understanding of cross-team dependencies and act effectively to solve issues as they arise, while remaining up to date with emerging technologies and software development trends.
