We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: - A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with relevant experience. - At least 8 years of progressive experience in software development and engineering. - A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role. - Over 4 years of experience utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks like React to develop applications employing enterprise design patterns. Technology Requirements: We expect proficiency in the following technologies: *Required:* - TypeScript - Next.js - Node.js or any other server-side JavaScript framework - React Native - AWS Ecosystem (Lambda, Amplify, Cognito) - Firebase - Experience with Headless CMS (Sanity, Prismic) - Relational and Non-relational Databases *Preferred:* - Boomi - C# / .NET - GROQ / GraphQL - Astro

Responsibilities

As a Principal Software Engineer on our Customer-Facing Digital Experience team, I will expect you to integrate smoothly into our team with minimal direction, demonstrating the capability to hit the ground running from day one. You will guide a team of highly talented engineers, mentoring and developing their skills. Together, we will create a wide variety of appealing customer experiences across platforms, including web, tablet, mobile, and in-store kiosks. Since this project is in its early stages, you will have the opportunity to make foundational decisions that will shape our architecture and development processes for years to come. Your duties will include: - Leading and mentoring an agile engineering team as both a technical authority and key contributor, responsible for building, guiding, and nurturing a team of skilled engineers to create exceptional, high-performing customer experiences. - Architecting and building complex, high-speed systems within the AWS ecosystem, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and high-performing. You will collaborate with the architecture team to set the long-term technical direction, making essential decisions regarding technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. - Owning the quality of our digital experiences across web, mobile, tablet, and in-store kiosks. You will define and apply robust automated testing and quality assurance practices, maintaining high standards for code quality, conducting code reviews, and assisting in resolving complex technical issues and bugs. - Collaborating closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to establish strategy and ensure efficient sprints, ensuring that our software meets customer demands. - Writing and updating clear documentation for system architectures, APIs, and codebases. Staying abreast of new technologies and trends, you will develop Communities of Practice by mentoring colleagues and sharing your expertise. - Actively managing risk and uncertainty, developing a strong understanding of inter-team functional dependencies, and utilizing appropriate communication channels to address technical challenges.
