Requirements
Must:
- I require candidates to have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Network Operations. A Bachelor's degree or military service may account for two of those years.
- Candidates must possess a sensitivity level of IT-I – Critical Sensitive with a Top Secret clearance.
- A DoD approved 8570/8140 baseline certification is required, specifically Category IAT Level I (A+, Network+, or SEC+).
- I expect certifications in relevant computing environments such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNP, CWDP, and CTNS.
- Current certification as a Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) is necessary.
Responsibilities
- I need individuals who can demonstrate the ability to operate independently or under minimal supervision on moderately complex tasks involving analysis, planning, programming, and implementation.
- The selected candidates will make recommendations for the approval of significant network installations and ensure proper implementation of network services through close coordination with other information system professionals.
- In collaboration with functional users, they will develop alternative solutions and contingency plans.
- They will provide technical and administrative guidance to personnel involved in telecommunication network design, implementation, and operational duties, including reviewing work products for accuracy, conformity to design concepts, user standards, and progress against schedules.
- Experience in telecommunications network design and management is imperative, particularly in complex applications encompassing all phases of network design, implementation, and analysis. Candidates will be responsible for managing evaluations and cost estimations of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers and designing access and backbone networks.
- I expect them to analyze and develop telecommunications networks that support a diverse array of capabilities including voice, data, video, and wireless services.
- Candidates will also be responsible for defining problems and developing system requirements and network specifications.
- They will prepare milestone status reports and presentations regarding network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end-user representatives.
- Designing and planning for the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project initiation to completion is a key aspect of the role.

Connected Logistics is eager to fill six (6) Sr. Telecommunication Network Engineer positions to support the Department of Defense and the DLA Information Operations. Our Network & Telecommunications Services' Local Area Network Branch operates enterprise-wide across various DLA locations including Columbus, OH; New Cumberland, PA; Battle Creek, MI; Richmond, VA; and Fort Belvoir, VA. This role is focused on aiding both wired and wireless LAN functions by providing top-tier telecom engineering skills and operational support for current and emerging technologies relevant to the Local Area Network (LAN).
