Requirements
Must:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Systems or Network Engineering, or over 5 years of relevant experience in a Senior Systems Administrator capacity
- Strong expertise in Windows Server environments along with Microsoft 365 administration
- Direct experience with K-12 Student Information Systems and provincial data submission platforms within an Alberta educational framework is advantageous
- Proven capability to manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes
- Must exhibit a high level of professional ethics, integrity, and transparency while handling sensitive organizational data and financial resources
Responsibilities
- Oversee and resolve issues related to file servers, network infrastructure (LAN/WAN), and wireless connectivity across various sites
- Manage the complete lifecycle of Active Directory, including security groups, permissions, and account creation and termination
- Maintain and enhance the organizations Student Information System (SIS), providing data management and scheduling assistance while ensuring compliance with provincial regulatory reporting requirements
- Deliver advanced hardware and software support to school leadership and instructional staff
- Contribute to Technology Committee meetings, offering recommendations on infrastructure improvements and security measures
Description
We are the School Authority located in the Edmonton area, seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent System Administrator for a 10-month annual contract. Our competitive compensation ranges from $65,000 to $85,000, depending on experience, accompanied by a comprehensive rewards package including an employer-matching RRSP program and 10% vacation pay. Additional pay for authorized emergency support or off-site services may be available. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the efficient management of our IT systems and student information, and we promote a high standard of professional ethics and integrity within our team.
