We seek a proficient Cyber Security Engineer who has over 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud security (Azure/AWS) along with skills in scripting for automation and remediation. A Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered. Additional certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Security, CCSP, CCSK, or GIAC Cloud Security would be advantageous. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Azure and AWS security services, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Bash, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. Familiarity with compliance frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, GDPR, CMMC, and CIS is also required. Moreover, a working knowledge of Microsoft O365, especially Excel, along with experience in Power BI and SharePoint is preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will lead the design and implementation of secure architectures for Azure and AWS environments while continuously monitoring and addressing misconfigurations in IAM roles, security groups, and network ACLs. I will also investigate cloud-specific security alerts, coordinating with SOC teams for incident responses. Additionally, I will conduct vulnerability scans using tools such as AWS Inspector, Azure Defender, Wiz, and Tenable, support audits, and maintain compliance with frameworks like CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001. I will develop scripts in Python, PowerShell, and Bash, as well as Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform or CloudFormation to automate threat detection and remediation workflows via AWS Lambda and Azure Functions. Integration of custom scripts with SIEMs and EDR platforms will be part of my responsibilities as well, aimed at optimizing alerting and minimizing false positives.
