Requirements

Must:
- Hands-on experience with Windows updates, including running, managing, and troubleshooting - Familiarity with antivirus or malware removal tools - Basic Windows troubleshooting skills - Experience with backup software or cloud backup systems - Strong ability to explain personal execution of technical tasks - No expert level needed, but familiarity with concepts is essential - Background in Help Desk or IT Support Technician roles is a plus - Exposure to technical support in a business setting is beneficial - Completion of Computer Science or IT coursework is advantageous - Possession of CompTIA A+ or similar certifications is preferred - Experience in building or upgrading personal computers is a plus - Prior technical support for friends, family, or small businesses is helpful - Prior work in a service desk or Managed Service Provider environment is a plus

Responsibilities

- Monitor the service queue for overnight alerts and urgent tickets - Execute and manage Windows updates on various client machines - Diagnose and rectify basic malware or antivirus alerts - Conduct virus scans and provide necessary remediation - Set up and oversee cloud backup configurations - Handle password resets and manage user access in Active Directory / Microsoft 365 environments - Assist with issues related to printers, networks, and connectivity - Troubleshoot performance issues with slow or unstable Windows systems - Appropriately escalate issues that exceed the roles scope - Coordinate with technicians and clients on open service requests - Respond to customer inquiries via calls and emails - Assign tickets and ensure progression of service requests - Validate that backup reports are successful - Process client deposits and maintain organized documentation - Support internal operational workflows and systems
