Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with direct involvement in incident response
- Proven track record in investigating security breaches or cyber incidents within live environments
- Strong foundation in Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)
- Proficient in analyzing logs, endpoints, and network traffic
- Ability to conduct investigations independently in high-pressure scenarios
- Familiarity with security investigation tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black, Microsoft Defender, Wireshark, Velociraptor, EnCase, or FTK
- Experience in cloud investigations across platforms like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Consultation or client-facing investigation experience is a plus
- Relevant security certifications such as GCFA, GCFE, GCIH, CISSP, CHFI, or EnCE are preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform cybersecurity incident investigations and forensic analyses
- Analyze logs, endpoints, and network activities to pinpoint root causes and attack vectors
- Investigate potential unauthorized access or data exposure risks
- Reconstruct timelines of incidents and attacker actions
- Provide recommendations for containment and remediation
- Draft clear written findings and detailed incident reports
- Communicate investigation outcomes to internal stakeholders and support client-facing deliverables
Description
We are a dynamic consulting firm looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Incident Response & Digital Forensics Consultant to assist us in investigating a critical time-sensitive security incident. This role will be primarily remote, with a preference for candidates located in Dallas, TX. We need someone who can work autonomously and deliver structured findings for communication with clients.
