Requirements
Must:
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including a minimum of 3+ years in a Director role or equivalent
- Proven experience managing large teams, preferably involving multiple layers of management
- Demonstrated ability to utilize data, metrics, and KPIs to enhance team performance and achieve business goals
- Experience guiding teams through organizational changes, mergers/acquisitions, or major system implementations
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure architecture with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- In-depth networking expertise with the capability to assess complex technical challenges and solutions
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, network segmentation, and enterprise security architectures
- Technical experience in networking technologies
- Knowledge of AI tools that can optimize infrastructure efficiency
- Proven capability to integrate IT infrastructure strategy with business goals
- Experience overseeing infrastructure budgets and promoting cost-saving initiatives
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to 3 Manager-level direct reports, supervising a team of 30-40 networking and service desk professionals
- Set and review KPIs and performance metrics to foster operational excellence and continuous enhancement
- Cultivate a high-performing environment that emphasizes innovation, accountability, and customer satisfaction
- Formulate succession planning and talent development strategies for all teams
- Spearhead enterprise-wide cloud infrastructure initiatives utilizing various platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Design scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions to promote business growth and digital transformation
- Oversee infrastructure planning for the impending migration to a Cloud ERP platform
- Guarantee infrastructure performance, reliability, and scalability to accommodate evolving business operations
- Supervise a complex SD-WAN environment with distributed network equipment
- Offer technical leadership and strategic direction for multi-layered network segmentation and security architecture
- Manage infrastructure monitoring and analytics platforms for early issue identification and resolution
- Lead infrastructure refresh cycles every 3-5 years to minimize disruption and maximize ROI
- Direct the Service Desk operations while upholding high service standards
- Utilize the strengths of a capable management team while providing strategic direction and resources
- Ensure smooth collaboration between the Service Desk, Network, and other Infrastructure teams
- Initiate service improvement projects based on data analytics and customer insights
Description
We are a well-established organization located in the Buffalo area, currently experiencing growth and seeking an experienced Director of IT to guide our infrastructure and operations teams through a transformative growth phase. In this expanded role, you will oversee strategic and operational leadership for our Network Infrastructure and Service Desk. We offer competitive compensation between $160,000 and $180,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible scheduling, paid time off, and life insurance. This position requires in-person presence at our office.
