Requirements

Must:
- 3 to 7+ years of experience in telecommunications, network operations, RF or microwave engineering, or related infrastructure roles. - Practical experience with at least one of the following (preferably more): - Turin transport systems (TCC, OMS, EMS) - TransNAV or similar NMS for pipeline/utility networks - NEC Microwave LHC networks - Kratos SATCOM/earth station monitoring - Comprehensive understanding of IP networking, routing/switching, VLANs, QoS, and troubleshooting in LAN/WAN environments. - Proficiency in fiber optic testing (OTDR, power meter), RF measurements, and multiplexing systems. - Capability to interpret intricate network diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documents. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-reliability environments. - Must be a US citizen and reside in the US, able to pass a background check and drug test, including ongoing random screenings. - Ability to obtain a TWIC card within 3 months of employment. - Ability to work rotating shifts (24/7 NOC operations), extended hours, nights, weekends, and on-call duties. - Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to remote pipeline locations when necessary. - Possessing an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or the ability to obtain it within 12 months is advantageous.

Responsibilities

- Oversee enterprise communications networks, including microwave backbones, fiber optic transports, multiplexing systems, and RF assets using NMS platforms like TransNAV, Turin EMS, Kratos CMS, and other internal tools. - Identify, prioritize, and escalate alarms impacting TAPS operations, SCADA, Control Center systems, VSAT/LEO/SATCOM, voice systems, or remote connectivity. - Maintain continuous situational awareness regarding network health, environmental factors, and communication disruptions. - Execute network provisioning on Turin transport devices, multiplexers, DWDM/SONET circuits, and IP/MPLS devices to support operational traffic. - Set up microwave paths, adjust capacity, manage protection switching, and monitor performance parameters. - Conduct planned maintenance, circuit transitions, and launch new network services in accordance with engineering standards. - Keep precise documentation for provisioning, configurations, and change controls. - Troubleshoot faults in microwave radio systems, circuits, VHF/RF systems, and multiplexing equipment using various diagnostic tools. - Collaborate with field technicians and engineers to manage remote troubleshooting, dispatch actions, or emergency repairs. - Recognize ongoing issues and collaborate with engineering teams for root cause analysis and effective resolutions. - Operate and analyze network performance metrics via Turin EMS, TransNAV, and Kratos for SATCOM and RF signal integrity. - Assist with both legacy and modern multiplexing systems utilized for voice, data, control circuits, and failover paths throughout the network. - Monitor network anomalies, unauthorized changes, or system performance drops to support cybersecurity measures. - Engage in scheduled maintenance tasks to verify the health and performance of backbone circuits, node equipment, and communication assets. - Update system diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides periodically. - Provide shift handover reports, daily status updates, and incident logs. - Act as a primary coordination point for field teams at remote sites, ensuring clear communication during network events and safety-critical operations. - Assist engineering and operations teams with planning upgrades, migrations, and system modernization projects.

We are seeking a skilled Network Operations Engineer to enhance the 24/7 monitoring, provisioning, and stability of telecommunications and SCADA-dependent systems that guarantee safe and reliable operations within our carrier-class network. This role demands a solid foundation in telecommunications transport systems, microwave networks, RF systems, fiber infrastructures, and IP networking. Candidates with experience in Turin transport platforms, TransNAV network management, NEC long-haul microwave, and Kratos/SATCOM monitoring systems will be highly regarded. Working as an integral part of our Operations Control Center (OCC) / Network Operations Center (NOC), you will ensure continuous situational awareness and a prompt response for network communications and operational technology networks. We offer competitive hourly pay, which starts at $40 to $50, based on experience, alongside performance-based incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, a retirement plan, and flexible spending options.
