Senior Network Engineer

- Acquire knowledge of a new Government system to become the single Subject Matter Expert for all system-related issues. - Independently deliver network engineering operations and maintenance support for a critical government system, acting as the SME with comprehensive knowledge across relevant technologies. - Manage Juniper SRX-series security devices, certified at the JNCIP-SEC or JNCIE-SEC levels; ensure configurations align with industry best practices and FISMA standards; implement defense-in-depth strategies using pertinent firewall rules, security policies, and other secure configurations; monitor pre-shared key (PSK) and AutoVPN virtual private network (VPN) links; implement high availability configurations as necessary. - Operate Juniper EX-series switches with 1Gbps and 10Gbps backplanes; establish connectivity with Juniper and other vendor technologies using both copper and fiber; implement high availability configurations when needed. - Utilize Cisco Firepower ASA firewalls with AnyConnect for client VPN access; ensure high availability as needed and establish connectivity to backend authentication services while ensuring secure configurations for remote network and resource access. - Design and maintain out-of-band management networks using TrippLite serial consoles, iDRAC, and other technologies for secure management of network devices. - Collaborate with customer personnel, contractors, and vendors in the design and specification of Private IP and Internet circuits to support various systems. - Guarantee high availability of Network Time Protocol across all networks to ensure consistent and accurate time is accessible to all servers and network devices. - Adhere to configuration management protocols to ensure consistent and secure modifications of equipment configurations. - Produce and maintain technical documentation and diagrams pertinent to field communications systems equipment and networks. - Possess security engineering experience. - Participate in the Authority to Operate (ATO) process. - Engage in business analysis and requirements development. - Contribute to technical writing and documentation efforts. - Have experience in government contracting, particularly with the Department of Justice.
