Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in SQL and analytical querying (essential requirement)
- Experience with cloud analytics platforms including Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Explorer, and Power BI
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Snowflake
- Solid skill set in Python programming
- Knowledge of database management techniques
- Proficiency in Power Query and PowerApps
- Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Capacity to interpret and handle large and complex datasets
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Data Engineer to construct a FinOps Data Platform by designing, implementing, and refining comprehensive data pipelines to manage large amounts of structured and unstructured data
- Perform statistical analyses on datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Develop and produce detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively convey insights to the product team, finance, and technology management
- Partner with Data Engineer, DevOps, and Finance teams to align business objectives with data solutions, ensuring efficient data ingestion and transformation
- Work alongside cloud finance analysts for monthly actual analysis, forecasting, and the annual budgeting process by utilizing Python scripts to convert large data sets into actionable insights
- Enhance Excel workbooks utilized for monthly close analysis by melding SQL and Power Query to finalize journal entries submitted to accounting
- Generate and utilize BI visualizations to extract significant insights from vast data resources like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Snowflake, articulating findings related to products and services
- Craft reports and analytic applications using Power BI (DAX) in an accessible and useful format for product teams, including reconciliation analyses
- Bring 6-8 years of relevant experience to the role
- Automate data processes and maintain data pipelines for increased efficiency
- Ensure data quality through checks, monitoring performance, and compliance with governance and security policies

You will analyze data stored in cloud platforms, utilizing tools such as SQL and Python to interpret substantial datasets and deliver visualizations and reports for our business stakeholders. Our work involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our data systems are accurate, secure, and accessible while optimizing data infrastructure in the cloud environment.
