Requirements
Must:
- Active Secret Clearance required
- DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, or cybersecurity engineering
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture and services
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)
- Experience in regulated federal or DoD environments
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, SAML, and identity federation concepts
- Excellent communication skills and experience in customer-facing roles
- Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (or Masters with 2+ years; additional experience may substitute for degree)
Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS environments
- Lead engineering initiatives focusing on cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
- Develop and drive cloud strategy and roadmap in line with mission and program goals
- Implement secure cloud architectures adhering to zero trust and defense-in-depth principles
- Ensure compliance with federal and industry standards (NIST, DoD Cloud SRG, SOC2, etc.)
- Integrate identity and access management solutions along with cloud security monitoring frameworks
- Manage and optimize AWS services such as networking, compute, storage, and platform services
- Advocate for DevSecOps practices utilizing tools like Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory
- Assist in system engineering activities, encompassing design, development, testing, and deployment
- Identify and resolve issues within cloud and hybrid environments
- Support vulnerability management, security evaluations, and remediation efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, security, and product management
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design standards
- Establish reference architectures and reusable cloud design patterns
Description
We are searching for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to enhance a federal cloud program dedicated to designing, engineering, and optimizing scalable and secure cloud environments. This role is hands-on and requires technical leadership focused on architecting cloud-native solutions, mentoring engineering teams, and promoting best practices across architecture, deployment, security, and operations. The opportunity requires significant AWS expertise, experience in DevSecOps landscapes, and a comprehensive understanding of federal compliance frameworks and zero trust principles. Our location involves some travel to Hanscom Air Force Base, MA or Huntsville, AL. We offer a competitive salary range of $145k to $150k along with a comprehensive benefits package.
