Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in automating processes using GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD design principles and best practices in DevOps.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python, alongside proficiency in YAML and .NET C#.
- Experience with integrating cloud services into CI/CD workflows.
- Strong communication abilities, particularly for technical training and mentoring.
- Capability to document complex processes in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing GitHub Actions workflows, especially for intricate build and deployment pipelines with self-hosted Windows runners.
- Familiarity with repository management, including team configuration, access control, and security best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and enhance CI/CD workflows utilizing GitHub Actions.
- Automate workflows for builds, tests, deployments, security checks, and environment setup.
- Connect GitHub Actions with systems operating on Windows servers, AIX servers, SMB network shares, and Mainframe.
- Create reusable workflow templates, composite actions, and shared automation components that support our CI/CD vision.
- Identify and resolve pipeline failures while implementing sustainable long-term solutions.
- Assess the current automation environment and propose enhancements in reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Set best practices for branching methodologies, automated testing, secrets management, and overall workflow design.
- Document workflows, technical decisions, and standard operating procedures systematically.
- Facilitate hands-on training sessions, workshops, and walkthroughs for team members at varying levels of DevOps proficiency.
- Develop user-friendly guides and internal documentation.
Description
We are looking for an experienced GitHub Actions Contractor to bolster our engineering team by designing, constructing, optimizing, and documenting CI/CD workflows. This position is essential in training and empowering existing team members, enabling our developers, DevOps staff, and support engineers to successfully manage and enhance the automation pipeline. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, exhibit excellent communication skills, and have a genuine passion for sharing knowledge.
