Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2-4 years of applicable experience; or a Masters degree with less experience
- Minimum of 2 years of software development experience using Python, including creating and troubleshooting AWS Lambda functions
- Practical knowledge in setting up and configuring Amazon Connect, including contact flows, routing profiles, queues, and channel integration (voice, chat)
- Experience in integrating Lex V2 bots with Amazon Connect workflows
- Understanding of conversational AI design principles, such as slot elicitation, error recovery, and safe fallback strategies
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation) and Git-based CI/CD processes
Responsibilities
- Develop and configure Amazon Connect applications: build, update, and maintain contact flows, routing profiles, and queues for voice and chat channels
- Integrate Lex V2 bots into Amazon Connect workflows for call deflection, self-service transactions, and escalations
- Configure and enable Contact Lens for real-time and post-contact analytics, transcription, summarization, sentiment analysis, and redaction
- Set up Amazon Q in Connect domains, knowledge sources, guided workflows, and agent assist experiences
- Implement S3-based call and chat transcript storage with encryption and compliance measures
- Write AWS Lambda functions in Python for orchestrating Bedrock LLM calls, embeddings workflows, and logging
- Implement indexing and queries using OpenSearch, and set up knowledge synchronization triggers
- Construct retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to support agent assist and self-service knowledge in Amazon Connect
- Establish structured logging, conduct unit and integration tests, and put in place performance safeguards
- Create AI guardrails, prompt templates, and evaluation processes for safety and accuracy
- Ensure PII minimization in Amazon Connect conversation logs and participate in threat modeling for contact center integrations
- Support CloudFront and WAF configurations for secure web chat entry
- Develop APIs and event hooks to manage conversation context across web chat, Amazon Connect, and AI services
- Participate in Git-based CI/CD workflows, code reviews, and documentation efforts
- Maintain operational documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs for contact flows, bot integrations, and AI processes
- Create and oversee CloudWatch dashboards/alarms for key performance metrics like call deflection rate and average handle time

This fully remote position requires quarterly travel to Maryland.
