Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in development with a focus on designing and executing complex solutions.
- 8+ years in a solutions architect role or related positions such as tech lead or lead designer.
- 2+ years of expertise in sales and distribution business processes and technologies, covering at least one sub-domain like Marketing, Wealth Management, or Insurance Distribution.
- Proven experience in leading system design and architectural tasks, including drafting technical requirements and steering design review sessions.
- Strong collaboration abilities, working effectively in a team-oriented setting with staff, vendors, and third-party contractors.
- Excellent mentoring capabilities and a commitment to contributing beyond standard project obligations.
- Demonstrated capability in providing technical direction and support to junior team members.
- Proficiency in AWS cloud application design, development, and deployment.
- Familiarity with event streaming and web service protocols such as SOAP, REST, JSON, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of data development, including database design, modeling, ETL, and scheduling processes.
- General understanding of insurance, investment, or financial data and experience with vendor/SaaS platform integrations.
- AWS Certifications preferred.
- 7+ years of design and development experience across frontend, backend, databases, and integration technologies preferred.
- Strong command of data modeling and ETL development best practices.
- Exposure to technologies like Vertica, Kong, Kafka, Salesforce, and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to establish and sustain the target operating model for delivery, including associated technologies and tools.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to advance the strategic vision and application roadmaps.
- Work with Development Teams to translate architecture into design and code execution.
- Act as the technical point of contact among business partners, industry vendors, and distribution associates, closely collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Identify comprehensive technical solutions that align with business needs, leveraging service-based architecture and APIs.
- Develop actionable, context-specific roadmaps that reflect future technology visions.
- Engage directly with subject matter experts to ensure adherence to architecture standards and alignment with enterprise technology stacks.
- Design reusable components like APIs and Microservices to create an overall flexible, scalable, and efficient solution.
- Take responsibility for the execution of cross-functional solution architecture within the Sales & Distribution technology realm.
- Proactively assess current technology states and identify gaps and overlaps.
- Optimize technologies, recommending necessary investments and conducting assessments where needed.
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry services and products to make informed decisions regarding product use and investments.
