Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience leading IT or health technology initiatives.
- Strong technical background in system implementation, integration, application support, network or infrastructure management, or database/data systems.
- Experience in healthcare, particularly within Medicaid managed care, behavioral health, or other regulated sectors.
- Proven capability to manage multiple complex projects in a matrixed organization.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in building cross-departmental relationships and achieving consensus.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies, such as MS Project, Jira, or Asana, as well as Agile/Waterfall frameworks.
- PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or similar certification (preferred).
- Experience with Medicaid data systems, behavioral health technologies, or claims and eligibility platforms (preferred).
- Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity best practices, or interoperability standards like FHIR or APIs (preferred).
- Background in vendor management, contract oversight, or RFP processes (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of IT projects, including software implementations and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage project scope, timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, decision logs, and budgets using PMO-defined methodologies and tools.
- Create and maintain detailed project documentation, such as charters, work plans, status reports, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate vendor activities to ensure that deliverables meet technical, security, and compliance standards.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish technical criteria for vendor selections and facilitate the vendor selection process as necessary.
- Track and report on project milestones, provide regular status updates, and escalate issues to the project sponsor and leadership team.
- Serve as a technical intermediary among business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Analyze and convert business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Assist in the design of solutions, technical evaluations, and system configuration discussions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health information technology standards and Medicaid/behavioral health program requirements.
- Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with diverse teams across the organization, including clinical leadership and quality teams.
- Enhance communication and alignment across departments to ensure project goals and organizational priorities are clear.
- Advocate for collaborative problem-solving and a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Provide succinct and accurate project updates to executives, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Organize cross-functional meetings, ensuring that decisions are recorded and followed up on.
- Create communication plans tailored to various audiences, including technical staff, clinical teams, and senior leaders.
- Comply with PMO methodologies, reporting processes, and governance structures while ensuring that project activities meet applicable regulations, including HIPAA and Medicaid guidelines.
- Assist in organizational readiness tasks including training and change management processes.
