Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of IP networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, routing, and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc.).
- Experience with network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) and troubleshooting network security breaches.
- Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or regulated environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations within a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Keen attention to detail with a proactive approach to network maintenance and optimization.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and be available for on-call duties.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor the performance, availability, and security of conventional and DAS networks.
- Address network alarms, incidents, and outages swiftly to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Work together with other teams to restore services and apply both temporary and permanent solutions.
- Execute configuration changes and updates for routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices as required.
- Resolve connectivity problems, performance issues, and other network faults.
- Conduct regular evaluations of network performance and suggest optimization strategies.
- Aid in planning and executing network upgrades, expansions, and capacity enhancements.
- Implement security protocols to safeguard network integrity.
