Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
- Proven experience in medical device new product development
- Strong knowledge of system architecture and risk management
- Familiarity with IEC 60601-1-11, ISO 80601-2-70, and ISO 80601-2-72 standards
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Experience in leading FMEA and risk management processes
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Stability in employment history with a track record of contributions in device development
Responsibilities
- Oversee complete systems engineering processes for new medical device projects
- Create and document Product and Element Requirements with thorough technical justifications
- Translate regulatory standards into actionable subsystem specifications
- Conduct in-depth FMEA and manage system-level risks according to ISO 14971
- Maintain comprehensive documentation within the Risk Management File (RMF) and Design History File (DHF)
- Develop and uphold traceability matrices throughout the V-model, ensuring requirements flow and validation alignment
- Clarify how system-level risks impact software, electrical, and mechanical subsystem requirements
- Design robust Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies, protocols, and testing plans
- Act as the technical liaison among R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and quality assurance teams
- Guide junior engineers in best practices and systems engineering methodologies
