Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in database and backend testing
- In-depth understanding of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and stored procedure validation
- Mastery of mocking techniques for simulating database interactions using frameworks like Mockito, JMock, or WireMock
- Practical experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit, NUnit, or TestNG
- Solid capability in crafting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for testing purposes
- Familiarity with CI/CD automation processes using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
- Basic knowledge of API testing and backend validation utilizing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve database-related challenges
- Experience in managing test data and constructing reusable test datasets
- Nice to have: experience in mobile application testing (Android), utilizing tools like Appium, Selenium, Playwright
- Nice to have: capability to automate API tests using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or Karate
- Nice to have: proficiency in programming languages like Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Kotlin
- Nice to have: familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling
- Nice to have: understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and their testing methodologies
- Nice to have: experience in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Nice to have: awareness of security testing methods for database vulnerabilities
- Nice to have: knowledge of cloud-based database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and maintain automated testing frameworks for both database and backend systems
- Develop and execute test cases focused on stored procedures, triggers, and database functions to ensure business logic and data integrity
- Utilize mocking techniques to replicate database interactions and isolate components for testing
- Create and sustain unit and integration testing utilizing frameworks like Mockito, JMock, or WireMock
- Work collaboratively with development and DevOps teams to embed database tests within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
- Validate SQL queries to confirm data accuracy, integrity, and consistency in diverse environments
- Conduct API testing to assess database interactions using tools like Postman or RestAssured
- Identify performance issues in database queries and stored procedures and report them
- Implement data-driven and schema validation testing to ensure correctness of database modifications
- Investigate and apply best practices in database testing, data virtualization, and test data management
