Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in cross-program simulation to simulation integration and testing, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and High-Level Architecture (HLA).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in end-to-end software testing and HWIL testing for avionics and software systems.
- Experience with NASA space programs is essential.
- Strong expertise in the design, development, and application of simulators/emulators for integration and verification & validation.
- In-depth knowledge of avionics architectures, flight software, requirements development, radio frequency communications, and spacecraft Ethernet frameworks.
- Proven experience in developing procedures, specifications, and non-conformance documentation.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, scripting languages, XML, and object-oriented development paradigms.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of NASA NPR 7150.2, real-time embedded systems, systems engineering practices, Agile methodologies, electronics, instrumentation, and closed-loop avionics control systems.
- Capacity to work on-site at Marshall Space Flight Center.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate hardware/software integration initiatives for the Human Landing System (HLS).
- Perform independent assessments of flight software, from requirements through operational phases.
- Assume the role of Emulator/Simulator Lead, directing the development, defining capabilities, managing pre-ship checkouts, and ensuring acceptance documentation is sufficient.
- Act as a subject matter expert during technical reviews (e.g., Preliminary Design Reviews, Technical Reviews), collaborating with stakeholders on design, integration, testing, delivery, and issue resolution.
- Aid in the integration, troubleshooting, and implementation of emulators/simulators across various facilities.
- Engage in internal and external reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, and software lifecycle activities.
- Provide regular updates to leadership, identify potential risks, and operate proactively with minimal oversight.
