Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of professional experience in Data Visualization and Business Intelligence, particularly within a consulting or agency setting.
- Certifications in Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst and Salesforce Certified Tableau Architect (or equivalent legacy Tableau Desktop Certified Professional).
- Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud, with a solid understanding of Server functionality. Comfort building reports from scratch without templates.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce Object Model and effective visualization of CRM data (Apex development skills are not required, but understanding data structure is crucial).
- Familiarity with writing and optimizing SQL queries; awareness of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and various schema types (medallion, star, snowflake).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or equivalent advanced professional experience).
- Bonus: Proficiency in French is an asset as we broaden our French-speaking client base.
Responsibilities
- Engage with C-suite and senior stakeholders to transform business objectives into clear data and reporting requirements, proactively identifying data quality issues that may hinder development and designing effective Tableau solutions.
- Create and deploy robust Tableau solutions that utilize advanced functionalities (e.g., LOD expressions, Tableau Pulse, complex parameters) to address complex client needs.
- Develop embedding strategies for Salesforce; collaborate with Salesforce Developers to design Lightning Web Pages/Components that ensure a seamless user experience with Tableau.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of Tableau and Salesforce Data 360 integration, particularly in relation to Tableau Next.
- Monitor dashboard and Tableau server performance, refining inefficient workbooks and optimizing SQL queries to guarantee rapid rendering times even with large datasets.
- Design multi-fact schemas and relationship-based models that promote governed, flexible self-service analysis, moving beyond flat-file approaches.
- Lead the establishment of strong security frameworks, including Row-Level Security (RLS) using user entitlements and JWT, to ensure data access is appropriately restricted.
- Oversee client Tableau Server/Cloud environments, managing project hierarchies, refresh schedules, and user roles.
- Serve as the primary consultant for business leaders, translating vague business needs into intuitive and impactful Tableau solutions.
- Act as a mentor for the BI team on Tableau, data modeling, and advanced techniques to enhance overall team skills.
- Promote the importance of data storytelling, making sure every deliverable conveys a clear narrative that aids in decision-making.
