Requirements

Must:
- Strong customer service skills with the capability to comprehend and clarify client needs. - Practical experience in configuring Cisco routers and switches (IOS/NX-OS), Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls, VPNs, and familiarity with General Dynamics Taclanes and/or GEMOne. - Knowledgeable about F5 Load Balancers, particularly GTM and Big DNS. - Technical expertise in Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems, network security, traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability assessment, packet analysis, and system hardening. - Solid comprehension of Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing protocols, and various encryption/communication protocols such as TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, and NTP. - Experience in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement. - Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively. - Must possess or be able to obtain DOE Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, VPNs, load balancers, and security equipment. - Implement security patches and enforce protocols across network devices and systems. - Monitor and enhance network performance utilizing management tools; quickly identify and resolve issues. - Keep an updated inventory of network assets and oversee their lifecycle tracking. - Offer design insights and technical support in engineering meetings and related network projects. - Oversee data center network infrastructure and contribute to storage, virtualization, and infrastructure improvements. - Remain informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in networking and security. - Diagnose outages impacting voice, video, and data services; schedule necessary upgrades and enhancements. - Exhibit proficiency in routing, switching, firewall setup, and secure LAN/WAN support. - Provide support for Linux/Unix and Windows systems, ensuring smooth integration with network services. - Compile comprehensive reports on network performance, incidents, and upgrades. - Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding hardware/software inquiries and troubleshooting. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams on intricate technical matters and disaster recovery planning. - Lead or support network/system projects, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with objectives. - Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to assist team and organizational goals.
