Requirements
Must:
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in application security testing, encompassing DAST, SAST, OSS testing, SCA, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Bachelors Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications, including EC-Council Certified Application Security Engineer (CASE), (ISC)2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), and GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT).
- Experience evaluating web applications for OWASP Top Ten security vulnerabilities.
- Profound knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proven track record in promoting secure coding practices and offering training to development teams on secure development methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure tests are executed according to specifications.
- Effective task prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ethical integrity to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and share expertise.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities coupled with persistence in applying varied techniques.
- Understanding of the business ramifications of identified security weaknesses.
- Commitment to ongoing technical knowledge enhancement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to outline the scope of application security testing efforts, specifying application types and testing methodologies.
- Design and execute application security tests throughout the software development life cycle to identify code vulnerabilities and deficiencies in secure coding practices.
- Utilize test findings to prepare reports that detail identified security issues, evaluate risk levels, and provide actionable remediation suggestions.
- Evaluate identified vulnerabilities and propose solutions to mitigate risks and enhance security posture within the application environment.
- Emphasize automation to improve efficiency in both testing and the resolution of findings.
- Present findings, potential risks, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders clearly.
- Consider the effects of testing on the business and its user base.
- Clearly communicate the potential operational impact of unresolved security vulnerabilities.
