Requirements
Must:
- 3 to 5 years of practical IT experience
- Minimum Community College diploma in IT Technician and Systems Administration or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and firewall management
- Experience managing Hyper-V virtual server environments
- Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 administration
- ERP experience is a valuable asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Self-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to offer occasional support outside of regular business hours
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID / Azure AD)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, group IT policies, and mobile device management
- Maintain and support Windows Server environments within a Hyper-V virtual network
- Administer and optimize Hyper-V virtualization platforms, including virtual machines and host systems
- Support and maintain the organizations ERP system within the virtual server environment
- Contribute to the establishment and upkeep of IT policies and best practices
- Manage and oversee LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Supervise firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and network security
- Maintain backup, antivirus, and data protection systems
- Ensure secure remote access and reliable connectivity
- Serve as a liaison with telecommunications and internet service providers
- Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, focusing on mission-critical systems
- Provide responsive technical assistance to staff
- Deliver training and guidance on hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 tools
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization, and network issues
- Support both remote and on-site users as necessary
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software
- Maintain precise inventory and asset records
- Ensure compliance with software licensing
- Provide technology recommendations to management
- Assist in the preparation and management of the IT budget
Description
At Clarence Farm Services Ltd., we have been dedicated to supporting agriculture and farming in Atlantic Canada for over 50 years. Our head office is located in Truro, NS. We are currently seeking a proactive Network Administrator to spearhead and maintain our IT infrastructure and systems. Reporting directly to the Comptroller, this position involves ensuring secure, stable, and efficient technology operations to support our daily business activities. This role requires being on-site to deliver effective support for our infrastructure, systems, and end users. We offer a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $72,000 per year, along with a range of benefits including casual dress, dental care, extended health care, life insurance, and more.
