Senior Mortgage Lender - Loan Origination Expert

- Travel to secure first mortgage and home equity loans through partnerships with realtors, builders, financial planners, insurance agents, and attorneys, as well as engaging with community organizations - Meet with clients and potential clients at diverse locations - Process each loan application and complete all pre-processing steps, including gathering all necessary documentation according to bank policy and underwriting standards - Educate prospective clients about the banks underwriting criteria and relevant government regulations - Evaluate loan requests adhering to bank policies and the types of loans available - Present and discuss various loan options with potential clients - Investigate new legislation and regulations impacting the Banks residential lending policies; ensure compliance by advising senior management and implementing necessary changes - Handle incoming phone inquiries and schedule appointments - Communicate complex loan approvals or denials to borrowers, real estate agents, or builders - Distribute market data, rate flyers, and general loan information to the real estate community as directed by management - Promote and engage in the banks special credit and CRA programs - Actively participate in local business and community initiatives and maintain relationships with local builders, brokers, agents, clients, and prospects - Perform additional tasks as assigned that support main responsibilities
