We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or an equivalent of eight years of relevant experience. Candidates should possess extensive technical expertise in Local Area Networks and Access Networks, including advanced proficiency in multiple routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, iBGP, and OSPF. A strong understanding of LAN redundancy is essential, including the design and support of highly redundant networks using HSRP or CSM, along with multilayer redundancy in both logical and physical configurations. Additionally, candidates should have advanced knowledge in LAN protocol management, covering address management and various network protocols. Experience with one or more of the following models is preferred: Aruba/Cisco routers, switches, and WLAN technologies; firewalls, IPS, and similar technologies; SD-WAN technologies; F5 hardware/software solutions; WAN optimizers (like Silverpeak); and Cisco/Avaya Voice over IP Networks (VOIP). A total of at least eight years of experience in a large corporate systems environment working with diverse Information Management systems, networks, and technologies is mandatory. We expect a minimum of five years of experience specifically in network engineering, design, implementation, and support of large scale LAN, WLAN, and WANs. Experience in a healthcare systems environment is an advantage. Preferred certifications include Cisco & Aruba Certification as well as Ekahau or Air Magnet Certification.
Responsibilities
In this role, I am responsible for planning and coordinating the future state of our networks to support our information management. This involves designing network solutions that align with the organization’s vision and strategy, while managing projects, service requests, and routine tasks effectively. I analyze network configurations for critical corporate resources, evaluating changes and providing essential input regarding integration, operations, costs, and resource needs to aid decision-making. I develop strategies and recommendations aimed at enhancing network performance and efficiency while addressing all aspects, including hardware, software, and external services, to prevent unplanned system disruptions.
Furthermore, I integrate network components and subsystems into the existing technical environment while assessing system availability, bandwidth, and throughput. I also install, configure, and validate the operation of network components while maintaining or enhancing the integration and functioning of systems. I design and implement a proactive process to gather and report data on the internetworking environment, ensuring the systems are efficient and meet our organizational needs by performing research and testing to assess the impact of updates. I will monitor the performance of all assigned systems, responding to issues of slow or erratic performance, and I’m tasked with providing training to IM associates and clients as necessary.
Description
I maintain up-to-date knowledge and certifications in internetworking technologies, including vendor-specific credentials, and I am expected to perform other duties as assigned. My typical work schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and this is a full-time position.
