Must:
We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field, or equivalent experience (3 years). A solid technical knowledge of large-scale enterprise infrastructure hardware, including virtualization technologies, compute, storage, networking, and cloud computing is essential. You should have proficient knowledge of industry practices and a solid understanding of technology solutions in a business environment.
You must possess strong troubleshooting skills with core Windows components such as Directory Services, LAN/WAN Protocols, Storage Technologies, Infrastructure services, and Internet Information Services. Alternatively, experience with Linux or Unix platforms is also acceptable. We expect you to have experience administering High Availability, Redundancy, and Disaster Recovery solutions. Proficiency with virtualization solutions, configurations for Windows and Linux services, Antivirus, E-mail systems, and Backup software/hardware is necessary.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a large corporate systems environment, along with at least two (2) years of enterprise server administration or engineering experience, is required. Prior experience in a healthcare systems environment is a plus. We recommend having one or more storage networking certifications, such as Server+(Plus), Microsoft Certification(s), LPI I, LPI II, HP ASE, Linux System Administrator, Redhat RHCE, VMware VCA, or VMware VCP.
Responsibilities
As your potential employer, I would like to outline the key responsibilities you will undertake in this role. You will be involved in strategy & planning, where you will coordinate the future state of our server infrastructure and define system standards in collaboration with the Server Engineering team and/or Solution Architects. In system engineering, you will assist in analyzing server configurations for critical corporate resources, providing input for changes and system acquisitions, and developing plans to improve server performance and efficiency.
In terms of system integration, you will integrate server components into our existing technical environment, ensuring interoperability and operational recoverability. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and verifying server component operations. Additionally, you will implement and oversee processes to collect and report data on the server environment, ensuring systems operate efficiently and are maintained with current updates.
Your role also involves providing training to associates and clients as needed, while participating in cross-functional teams to address various technology projects.
Description
The Enterprise Server Engineer I (ESE I) position is strategic in nature, as it combines intermediate technical skills and expertise in Server Engineering with tactical involvement in Server operations execution. This role is crucial for maintaining the enterprise architecture and making recommendations concerning technical systems and process solution architectures, as well as migration strategies. Daily activities include analysis, design, implementation, and documentation functions for hardware and applications used in our enterprise environment. This encompasses all aspects of system monitoring, administration, and troubleshooting.
In this position, you will also serve as third-level support for server technologies, offering training and guidance to other technical staff who handle first and second-level support tasks. Your dedication and expertise will contribute significantly to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our IT operations.
