Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, or a related field is required. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience in MapReduce and Spark programming. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing analytics solutions with large data sets within an OLAP and MPP architecture. - Minimum of five (5) years of experience with the design, architecture, and development of enterprise-scale platforms built on open-source frameworks. - Three (3) years of experience working in a Microsoft SQL Server environment is preferred. - One (1) year of Healthcare IT experience is preferred. - Two (2) years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is preferred. - Certifications in Hadoop or Java are a plus.

Responsibilities

- I expect you to meet the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. - You will analyze and understand data sources, participate in requirement gathering, and provide insights and guidance on data technology and data modeling best practices. - I want you to analyze ideas and business and functional requirements to formulate a design strategy. - You will act as a tenant to draw out a workable application design and coding parameters with essential functionalities. - Collaborating with team members is crucial in identifying and addressing issues, while implementing viable technical solutions that are time and cost-effective, ensuring that performance quality is maintained. - You are expected to develop code following industry best practices and adhere to our organizational development rules and standards. - Participation in the evaluation of proposed system acquisitions or solutions is key, as is providing input to the decision-making process related to compatibility, cost, resource requirements, operations, and maintenance. - I expect you to integrate software components, subsystems, facilities, and services into the existing technical systems environment, assessing impacts on other systems. Working with cross-functional teams will be vital to ensure a positive project outcome. - You will play a role in developing standards and proactive processes to collect and report data and statistics on assigned systems. - Participation in the research, design, development, and implementation of applications, databases, and interfaces using provided technology platforms is necessary. - I want you to research, design, implement, and manage programs. - Addressing problems arising during test cycles and continuously improving the quality of deliverables will be your responsibility. - Each phase of development should be referenced and documented for further reference and maintenance operations. - You will utilize critical and analytical thinking skills, leveraging your understanding of programming principles and design. - Strong technical knowledge of enterprise application/integration design and development of systems, databases, operating systems, and Information Services is essential. - Experience with large-scale data lake and data warehouse implementations, demonstrating proficiency in open-source technologies such as Python, Spark, Hive, HDFS, NiFi, among others, is expected. - A solid understanding and substantial experience in data mining techniques, relational, and non-relational databases will be necessary. - I expect you to have experience with data integration using ETL techniques and frameworks. - You should be comfortable working with Big Data querying tools, such as Hive, Impala, and Spark SQL. - Building stream-processing systems using solutions like NiFi or Spark-Streaming is part of your role. - A good understanding of Lambda Architecture is essential. - Intermediate-level skills in SQL programming and query performance tuning techniques for data integration and consumption design for optimum performance against large data assets within transactional, MPP, and columnar architectures are required. - Demonstrating a solid understanding of the BI and analytics landscape, preferably in large-scale development environments, is important.

Description


The position is for a Data and Analytics Engineer II, responsible for the development, expansion, and maintenance of data pipelines within our ecosystem. You will utilize your programming skills to develop, customize, and manage integration tools, databases, warehouses, and analytical systems. Your role will ensure the implementation of optimal solutions to integrate, store, process, and analyze large data sets, which includes a comprehensive understanding of methodology, specifications, programming, delivery, monitoring, and support standards. We value individuals who have advanced knowledge of designing and developing data pipelines and delivering advanced analytics using open-source Big Data processing frameworks, such as Hadoop technologies. Proven competency in programming utilizing distributed computing principles is critical. The work schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, on a full-time basis.
