Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, required
- Associates degree with experience is a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred
- Must be adaptable with scheduling to accommodate occasional evening or weekend activities
- Former or current parent or resident of the schools feeder area is favorable
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture relationships with parents and community members affiliated with the assigned school
- Create connections with local organizations for information-sharing, referrals, and advocacy for families
- Engage parents in school functions through community outreach efforts
- Support activities at the parent resource center, including providing information and referrals to relevant services
- Collaborate with the Community School Site Coordinator and school staff to organize workshops, training sessions, and seminars for parents
- Lead and coordinate events as necessary, recruiting targeted families and linking them to appropriate services while identifying specific needs and potential barriers
- Keep attendance records for all parent activities and classes
Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in schools located in Wilmington. These part-time, hourly positions allow for up to 25 hours per week and are available during the school year only, spanning 10 months. While these roles do not come with benefits, they provide an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on families and the community through engagement and support.
