Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related fields - Over 8 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focusing on SOAR engineering or automation - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a classified and air-gapped environment - At least 2 years in a technical leadership position - IAT III or higher-level certification is required - Preferred certifications include PCAP, PCPP, PCCSE, GCIH, GSOC, GMON, GCIA, GCDA, GCFA, or TI - Platform-specific SOAR certification (XSOAR, Splunk, or Sentinel) is preferred - DOD Top Secret clearance with capability to obtain SCI and CI Polygraph

Responsibilities

- Act as the primary technical architect and expert for SOAR technologies (e.g., Palo Alto XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, IBM SOAR, Microsoft Sentinel Automation) - Lead the design and development of new SOAR playbooks, integrations, automations, and workflows - Oversee platform health, optimizing performance, scalability, and ensuring high availability - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business needs with technical specifications - Implement best practices for automation governance, version control, and deployment management - Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and career guidance - Build and refine automated solutions for incident triage, enrichment, containment, remediation, and reporting - Create custom connectors and integrations using APIs, Python scripting, or vendor SDKs - Identify repetitive SOC tasks and transform them into automation opportunities - Ensure all automations adhere to security, compliance, and operational standards - Enhance incident response workflows using automated threat intelligence, vulnerability data, and detection signals - Troubleshoot automation failures and workflow-related issues - Support significant incident response activities by utilizing SOAR-driven orchestration - Perform additional tasks as assigned
