Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in network management or a related field - Over 8 years of professional experience in network engineering and next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) - Experience with classified or air-gapped networks - Current DOD IAT-III Certification (e.g., CISSP, SecurityX, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, GCED, GCIH) - Preferred: Palo Alto Network Security Professional - Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility - Comprehensive understanding of network architecture design, including LAN, WAN, SDN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud environments; experience with SD-WAN technologies is a plus - Proficient in routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and intrusion detection/prevention systems - Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex enterprise networks - Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and other fundamental networking protocols - Familiarity with classified and unclassified government network requirements, NIST, DISA STIGs, and various cybersecurity frameworks - Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including security, systems engineering, and program management - Capability to lead enterprise-scale network operations in a secure, mission-critical environment - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and guide teams through transitions - Understanding of SIEM and SOAR solutions (e.g., XSOAR, Swimlane, Splunk, Cortex XDR, QRadar) - Knowledge of cross-functional tool interactions over the network

Responsibilities

- Design and troubleshoot intricate network architectures and solutions - Utilize centralized network management tools to collect statistics, create usage reports, and back up device configurations - Provide technical leadership on significant network projects and enterprise technology initiatives - Research and assess emerging network technologies, protocols, and applications for potential integration - Ensure smooth and secure connectivity across all enterprise endpoints - Analyze interoperability, integration, and deployment challenges; optimize topology and site setups - Employ advanced network design methodologies to create efficient and secure architectures - Support mission-critical operations, with availability for occasional off-duty work - Develop automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, or Cisco DNA Center - Collaborate with security, systems, cloud, and DevOps teams to align infrastructure strategies - Coordinate with vendors and service providers for escalations, procurement, and support - Configure and manage security policies, NAT rules, decryption, and application-specific controls - Monitor and evaluate firewall logs, threat intelligence feeds, and traffic patterns to proactively identify and mitigate risks - Perform other duties as required
