Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field is necessary.
- 3+ years of experience as a Level II Engineer or a total of five years progressively responsible experience in Control System Engineering is required.
- Candidates with a Masters Degree may reduce total experience by 2 years.
- Valid Drivers License at hire and WA Drivers License within 30 days of hire is mandatory.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial control systems design and industrial communication and control networks is essential.
- Familiarity with PLC, RTU, and embedded system environments across multiple computing platforms.
- Proficiency in programming with three or more languages, preferably including object-oriented and scripting languages.
- Understanding of control protocols like DNP, OPC, Allen-Bradley, and MODBUS.
- Capability to analyze, evaluate threats and vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to convey technical information effectively.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, various operating systems, SQL Server, and visual programming environments.
Responsibilities
- Engage in developing and implementing SCADA or EMS systems used by operators to monitor and manage utility systems.
- Design and maintain networked applications and interfaces that operate with remote terminal units and programmable logic controllers.
- Document system processes and cyber security measures in compliance with NERC standards.
- Conduct advanced work on high-risk networked systems impacting compliance and safety.
- Provide technical analysis, system documentation, and support for project teams related to SCADA systems and tools.
- Create and manage documentation to meet NERC CIP requirements and support internal and external audits.
- Implement solutions for enhancing cyber security in line with business risks and prepare security architecture documentation.
- Lead complex projects and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to control systems engineering.
- Act as a mentor to junior engineers and provide critical asset information management.
