Requirements
Must:
- A masters or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Over 7 years of experience in AI and machine learning research and development using Python
- More than 7 years of experience in building data pipelines and conducting data analyses with large datasets
- At least 3 years of experience in employing AI models to drive business value
- Advanced knowledge in machine learning, natural language processing, and/or generative AI
- Strong fundamentals in data science, including proficiency in SQL, and Python data frames (e.g. pandas)
- Solid computer science fundamentals, including the ability to write unit tests
- Experience in working with large language models and deploying LLM-powered applications
- Proven ability to solve complex problems with ambiguous or incomplete data
- Experience mentoring engineers through clear feedback, presentations, and code reviews
- A proactive curiosity about new technologies and processes, with a commitment to personal and team improvement
- Strong communication skills, balancing both written and verbal communication effectively
- A demonstrated mindset focused on continuous learning and improvement
- Business domain knowledge related to previous products worked on
Responsibilities
- Design, investigate, and create innovative AI models and algorithms that enhance the client experience and generate business value
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and business leaders to ensure research aligns with Schwabs enterprise strategy
- Mentor and coach junior researchers, fostering robust scientific practices and a culture of ongoing learning
- Lead by example in addressing complex technical challenges and promoting advanced research standards
- Drive rapid experimentation from concept to practical application
- Bring curiosity and creativity to shape the future of AI at Schwab
