Requirements

Must:
- Masters degree or higher in educational leadership, special education, applied behavior analysis, or a closely related discipline. - Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential. - Preferred: Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining an educational leadership, school principal, or administrator credential. - Preferred: Currently licensed or in the process of obtaining a state special education instruction credential. - Ability to achieve and maintain certification in company-approved crisis management training. - A minimum of 5 years of experience or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, or emotional disturbances. - At least 3 years of prior leadership experience, preferably in a special education and/or behavioral health program environment. - Proficient management skills and a thorough understanding of administrative, school operations, and compliance mandates. - Previous experience in developing, assessing, and managing curriculum and instructional content. - Proven track record in training, professional development, and/or coaching for educators and support staff. - Highly knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis (ABA), including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, functional behavior analysis (FBA), and behavior intervention plans (BIP). - Skilled in motivating and engaging students through constructive conversations and realistic goal-setting. - Strong relationship-building ability with students, parents, educators, and community or business partners. - Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. - Familiar with relevant technology, including instructional technology and the Microsoft Office Suite, along with experience in database entry and basic office operations. - A leadership style characterized by servant leadership, focused on team needs, problem-solving, and promoting personal growth.

Responsibilities

- Provide visionary leadership to enhance student achievement and operational efficiency by supervising staff, developing and executing performance management plans, and identifying professional learning needs. - Actively engage in the hiring and selection process to ensure an effective site team is established. - Assess the professional development needs of staff, aligning those needs with the ChanceLight instructional vision, while recognizing achievements and addressing challenges to maintain effective site operations. - Safeguard staff and students by overseeing the site and classrooms, ensuring compliance with contractual and state requirements regarding staffing ratios and crisis protocols. - Undertake managerial responsibilities that include overseeing daily school operations like the school schedule, custodial services, food services, transportation, administration, financial operations, resource distribution, and community relations. - Lead the enrollment process from referral to the students last day, ensuring prompt classroom placements, conducting thorough site tours, managing classroom assignments based on student requirements, and aiding in the transition to the least restrictive environment. - Guide, monitor, and evaluate all staff and students in the effective use of learning materials to ensure fidelity in instruction and performance assessments. - Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to determine the underlying causes and functions of students challenging behaviors. - Design and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that adhere to ChanceLight standards and cater to the individual needs of each student. - Collaborate with educational personnel to develop measurable IEP goals and facilitate progress tracking. - Use evidence-based interventions, applying scientifically-backed educational and behavioral strategies to encourage positive outcomes in academic and social functioning.
