Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity position
- Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, or GIACGSEC (preferred)
- Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, technologies, and vulnerabilities
- In-depth knowledge of common attack techniques and defense mechanisms
- Proficiency with various security technologies, including SIEM systems, EDR solutions, firewalls, and IDS/IPS
- Familiarity with industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex security data and handle security incidents
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for articulating technical concepts to varied audiences
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to continuous learning in cybersecurity trends and threats
Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and manage security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses
- Lead security incident response activities, including investigation and recovery
- Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies and best practices
- Perform security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations
- Provide training and education to employees on security awareness
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and recommend controls
- Collaborate with IT staff to implement security measures in systems and applications
- Monitor security alerts and logs for suspicious activities and potential breaches
- Manage access controls and ensure least privilege principles are adhered to
