Requirements

Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in DevOps, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing a DevOps or SRE team overseeing production systems. - Demonstrated hands-on experience managing production AWS accounts, encompassing: - On-call duties - Incident management - SLA/SLO ownership - Proficient in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Artifactory (JFROG), ECR). - Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes). - Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS & AWS Gov is essential). - Knowledgeable in Linux administration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation methodologies. - Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, NodeJS, or others. - Familiar with networking principles and AWS Landing Zone architectures. - In-depth understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts, including monitoring strategies, alert fatigue reduction, and reliability KPIs. - Proven ability to create production-safe CI/CD pipelines with quality controls and automated validations. - Experience in software development with an emphasis on automation, maintainability, and quality. - Previous involvement in Agile/Scrum teams. - A proactive leader with a focus on production and reliability-driven practices.

Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee the DevOps/SRE team accountable for production environments, ensuring technical guidance and operational excellence. - Mentor engineers to enhance the capabilities of the DevOps/SRE team. - Manage production AWS accounts, with responsibilities for availability, stability, security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. - Define, enact, and continually refine SRE practices, such as: - Setting SLAs and SLOs in line with business and customer needs - Establishing error budgets to balance reliability and delivery speed - Conducting reviews for production readiness and setting reliability standards. - Take a proactive stance in designing, developing, and modifying CI/CD pipelines, automation tasks, and cloud frameworks. - Own and enhance CI/CD processes for production-ready cloud environments, particularly on AWS Commercial & AWS GovCloud. - Design and sustain highly available, robust, and scalable production infrastructure, with a strong focus on networking and AWS Landing Zone design. - Act as the production owner, overseeing: - Incident response and escalation protocols - Post-incident evaluations (RCA / postmortems) - Preventative reliability enhancements. - Collaborate with development, security, compliance, and cloud engineering teams to embed reliability throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). - Uphold SDLC and DevOps best practices, ensuring clean code, version control, testing, and high-level automation. - Streamline development and deployment cycles while ensuring production stability through controlled rollouts, canary releases, and rollback strategies. - Advocate for observability standards across production systems, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and metrics. - Diagnose and resolve complex, real-time production incidents to maintain system stability, performance, and compliance.
