Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to six years of relevant experience.
- In-depth understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for systems and printed circuit boards.
- Familiarity with industry and quality standards as well as Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Strong expertise in materials and components utilized in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards.
- Deep understanding of material science, robotics, and machine programming.
- Proficiency in product pricing, contract negotiations, and excellent customer interaction skills.
- Solid presentation, database management, and computer capabilities.
- Ability to design tests, analyze outcomes, and suggest improvements relevant to SMT and optical manufacturing processes.
- Competency in evaluating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting issues.
- Capability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical insights on assigned materials for production or customer-related material challenges.
- Conduct assessments, risk analyses, and quality audits on potential suppliers.
- Create product specifications and share them with suppliers.
- Execute material qualification on prototype and sample materials.
- Serve as the program/project liaison to manage new product launches and introductions.
- Translate customer needs into factory operations, estimate activity timings for pricing models, document related activities, and develop initial program timelines for customer quotes.
- Identify process issues affecting throughput or quality, assess their root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Participate in selecting new manufacturing equipment and evaluating software and hardware upgrades.
- Establish equipment specifications and conduct qualification tests.
- Collect, comprehend, and translate customer data into actionable manufacturing information.
- Ensure specifications meet customer, industry, and company standards.
- Analyze, sort, and distribute data to understand and resolve quality concerns.
- Develop metrics to propel the quality improvement process forward.
- Create and assess test processes, including fixtures and tools for automating test development.
- Design assembly/test processes, associated fixtures, and specialized tools, striving for automation wherever feasible.
- Formulate and execute the assembly/test strategy for new products, incorporating Design for Excellence (DFx) analysis and feedback.
