Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Over nine years of pertinent experience
- Advanced studies in Business, Operations, or Technology preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical parts manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with competitor pricing models and competitive benchmarks
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality improvement techniques
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in PC applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Strong analytical and statistical capabilities
- Capability to effectively communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in coordinating resources for production quality and quantity metrics
- Ability to motivate and guide a varied group of employees in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of professionals providing engineering operations support to production business units
- Manage engineering projects from development through production phases
- Define project metrics, allocate resources, and develop and manage budgets
- Communicate project progress and outcomes to senior management and customers
- Collaborate with Corporate and Technical Managers to determine project staffing based on customer demands and market trends
- Work closely with purchasing to establish reliable sources for mechanical parts and assemblies
- Address technical issues with suppliers, pursuing cost reduction and continual quality improvements
- Act as an internal consultant on CDM application systems across various sites
- Provide integration assistance for new sites employing CDM applications and processes
- Develop solutions leveraging industry expertise and capabilities from other sites
- Ensure optimal solutions for product and engineering data exchange and integrity
- Assist in contract negotiations with SCM and Engineering management
- Represent CDM in NPI/NCI/Bid process development and execution
- Identify gaps and lead strategies to improve global CDM practices
- Manage and mentor a group of CDM employees
