Requirements
Must:
- Active Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Bachelors degree or recognized equivalent experience.
- IAT/M Level II for Journeyman or IAT/M Level III for Senior position.
- 4 years of experience in cyber or information technology related to network systems for Journeyman; 6 years for Senior role.
- Proven ability in performing network engineering functions independently.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong multitasking capabilities across various design streams.
- Self-motivated and effective in both independent and team environments.
- Must handle sensitive information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Execute network engineering tasks aligning with the Network Engineer role.
- Apply cyber and information technology skills, particularly in A/V systems, as per the Journeyman level.
- Maintain necessary IAT/M certification levels (II or III) relevant to assigned duties.
- Proficiently grasp LAN and WAN concepts at a professional tier, holding Cisco Certified Network Professional or similar certifications.
- Design and implement networks following industry best practices such as 2-Tier and 3-Tier Models, Spine-Leaf, WAN, SOHO, Cloud, and First Hop Redundancy.
- Offer suggestions for network enhancements to boost system performance and availability.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain copper and fiber cables for all 39 IOS networks.
- Design, configure, and manage switches and related technologies like Access Ports and VLAN.
- Handle routers and routing technologies, including Static and Dynamic Routing, OSPF, and BGP.
- Manage Quality of Service (QoS) technologies such as Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP).
- Configure and maintain firewalls and security settings, including ACLs and zones.
- Ensure all systems remain updated with approved software and security patches.
- Oversee Network Monitoring and Management Systems, like Cisco ISE, Solar Winds, and VPN services.
- Handle IP address management and related services such as DHCP and DNS.
- Maintain documentation for alterations, including system diagrams and technical specifications.
- Manage Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS) and perform necessary maintenance.
- Execute tasks related to long-haul communications equipment configuration.
- Support network operations and enterprise architecture efforts aligned with DCWF roles.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
